I go dress shopping with my boyfriend?

I'm getting married in our local court. I'll just be me and my boyfriend. And his mother as a witness. It will not be A grand ceremony either. We'll probably have to go out and eat and that's all. We are planning our big wedding next year (2008). I have not bought my dress yet. And I'm thinking of buying a big expensive wedding dress. I want something simple like a party dress white or ivory evening gown or social dress. Does not really matter his name. But I wondered if it would be nice if I choose a dress with my boyfriend. Since there will be a traditional wedding anyway …. or should I go with her mom instead? She's like my best friend. I get along with her very well!
